In my youth I entertained a fantasy of being an artist, I was inspired by classical artists such Durer, Bosch, Eyck, Rembrandt and Da Vinci and contemporary artists like Frazetta, Struzan, Chris Foss, Roger and Martin Dean. I was an avid fantasy artist but went to Ipswich Art School where the enthusiasm for such material was beaten (figuratively) out of me. Apparently there was no future in it.
So I left with no real direction and artistically went off the boil, however, recently I have found a spark that I am trying to fan into a fire. I am attempting with varying degrees of success to mix traditional painting and drawing with photography and digital art methods.
The learning curve is steep and cobwebs are slowly coming off the gears. Whilst I realise I’m not going to set the art world on fire I would like to earn a bit on side from it.
